Trashy Art Student Exhibition

Deadline for Entry: Friday, May 7, 2010

Tampa Bay Living Green Expo is sponsoring the Trashy Art Student Exhibition for artwork created with recycled materials. This is a juried exhibition, and is open to K-12 students in all public and private Pinellas County schools.

Specifications

  • Each art teacher may submit up to five (5) works of art.
  • Two-dimensional work must be matted or mounted on sturdy poster board or construction paper, and may be no larger than 16 by 20 inches. Low relief may be no more than 2 inches.
  • Three-dimensional work should be no larger than 15 inches in any direction. 

Delivery & Return of Artwork

  • Art must be delivered by Friday, May 7, 2010 to the Pinellas County Schools Visual Arts Office Schools Administration Building, located at 301 4th Street SW in Largo. They can be reached at (727) 588-6057.
  • Please fully complete label and attach to back of artwork or on box of 3-D work.
  • 3-D work must be boxed separately in a cardboard container labeled with the student’s name.
  • All artwork will be returned by a PLG volunteer to the school of entry on June 7.

Jurying Process and Awards

All work will be judged and up to 5 works will be selected for Awards, which will be announced at the Pinellas Living Green Expo. The judges will select Awards of Distinction and Merit as follows:

  • 1st place will receive $300, a certificate and a ribbon, plus $100 for the student’s classroom.
  • 2nd place will receive $250, a certificate and a ribbon, plus $100 for the student’s classroom.
  • 3rd place will receive $200, a certificate and a ribbon, plus $100 for the student’s classroom.
  • 4th place will receive $150, a certificate and a ribbon, plus $100 for the student’s classroom.
  • 5th place will receive $100, a certificate and a ribbon, plus $100 for the student’s classroom.
